The Brief

When Shangri - La approached Plants & Plants, the landscaping works of this iconic project was running behind schedule, and they were looking for a contractor with a strong nursery and a project management background to secure the required plants and to bring the project back in line with the main project deadlines.

Then in early August 2017, Plants & Plants was awarded the contract to complete the landscaping works in a number of key areas including the main entrance access ramp, the outer boundary wall facing the Galle face green, outdoor areas around restaurant and gym, and all the indoor plants of the hotel. The scope of the project also included significant soil work related to supplying top soil and handling sand on site to prepare the planter boxes and planting beds as per the designs and specifications provided by the consultants. The main landscaping works include the supply and installation of 13 coconut trees and more than 14,000 shrubs. The Plants & Plants team was able to complete all the key outdoor landscaping works within 10 weeks from awarding the contract.
